This is a whole new side of her!

Who’s that girl?! Blake Lively was almost unrecognizable as she stepped out on set of her upcoming movie, The Rhythm Section, earlier this week. Looking gaunt with heavy bags under her eyes, the 30-year-old actress was anything but glamorous when she shot scenes for the new mystery thriller in which she plays a “heroin-addicted prostitute.” According to the mom-of-two, she wanted to undergo a dramatic transformation to show the true face of “a woman who society has written off.”

From the looks of it, she’s certainly achieved her goal!

Gritty New Role

“I play a heroin-addicted prostitute,” she recently told Vanity Fair’s In the Limelight podcast of the dark role. “You always see that thing in movies where if a woman is a prostitute or a sex worker, you always think, ‘I don’t want the guys to be grossed out by her. We have to still make her kind of sexy… tragically sexy, but you know, music video.’”

She continued, “If you drive down skid row, that’s not what you see. That’s not the truth. So it’s really important to us to show a woman who society has written off, and society has forgotten about.”
