It’s all happening! It was recently announced that superstar hip-hop icon Cardi B will star in a Hollywood film, and from what we can tell, it’s going to be huge!

From getting into fights with Nicki Minaj to welcoming her first baby, 2018 was absolutely bonkers for Cardi B. But despite her straight shot up through the ranks of celebrity, securing her place as a bona fide superstar, the “Money” rapper recently revealed that last year also had some major downfalls — including post-partum depression.

Cardi revealed that after giving birth to her daughter, Kulture Kiari, she faced serious emotional turmoil.

“I thought I was going to avoid it. When I gave birth, the doctor told me about postpartum and I was like, ‘Well, I’m doing good right now, I don’t think that’s going to happen,’ ” the singer told Harper’s Bazaar for their Spring Fashion Issue.

She said those difficulties came “out of nowhere” when she wasn’t expecting it.

“The world was heavy on my shoulders,” she admitted.

We’re sure it wasn’t helped by the many rumors circulating around then-husband Offset and his various affairs. The rapper announced that she was splitting with the Migos member in the fall of last year, claiming that they “fell out of love.”

“But then we were very concerned because we were getting a lot of threats, so he said, ‘The world don’t even deserve to see her,’” Cardi continued.

Cardi went on to reveal that she felt like she was living in a “fairy tale.” Considering the dozens of awards under her belt, her massively successful debut album, Invasion of Privacy, and of course, her new daughter, it’s no wonder.

“And I’m a princess — rags to riches, people trying to sabotage,” she said.
