It’s just a fact of life: as you grow older, your collection of baby shower and gender reveal party invites grows larger in number. Going to an old college acquaintance’s gender reveal party is likely not anyone’s idea of a good time — not because we don’t love celebrating babies, but more because we’re often so busy with our own lives that we barely even have time to find the perfect gift on said acquaintance’s Amazon wish list. Too many baby showers, too little time.

Perhaps that’s part of the reason why we, as a society, are so enthralled by celebrity pregnancies. Experiencing your favorite celeb’s pregnancy — from the very first baby bump photo to the much-anticipated arrival of their little one — is kind of like one big, fun baby shower for which you never have to leave your house (or scour the internet in search of the perfect gift). If you’re a fan of celebrity babies, we have good news: 2019 is definitely shaping up to be the year of famous births. Here’s a look at the year’s most popular celebrity birth announcements so far.

Psalm West

On Friday, May 10, 2019, Kim Kardashian took to social media to announce the arrival of the Kardashian-West brood’s sixth member, tweeting, “He’s here and he’s perfect!” The news didn’t exactly come as a shock, as big sister Kourtney Kardashian had already spilled the beans the day before during an appearance on Ellen in which she sweetly surprised the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch, Kris Jenner, by telling her Kim and Kanye’s surrogate had gone into labor with their fourth child. This marked the second time Kim used a surrogate, as Chicago West was born via surrogate in January 2018.

Upon Kim’s Twitter announcement of baby number four’s arrival, fans immediately launched into asking for the newest addition’s name, with many speculating that the baby boy would be named after his late maternal grandfather, Robert Kardashian. A week after his arrival, Kim finally revealed the much-anticipated name to fans via Twitter featuring a photo of the little one in his crib with the caption “Psalm West.”

Gene Attell Fischer

The birth of comedian Amy Schumer’s baby boy was so popular partly because it felt as if Schumer had been pregnant for an unnaturally long time. The funny gal even poked fun of this herself in an Instagram post, writing, “Oh yeah, does it feel to everyone like I’ve been pregnant for a long time? …Well, imagine how I feel!”

We can only imagine the relief Schumer felt when her first child with husband Chris Fischer finally made his arrival on Sunday, May 5, 2019. The Trainwreck star posted a photo to Instagram on May 6, featuring both Fischer and Schumer with their new baby boy, along with the caption, “10:55 pm last night. Our royal baby was born.” Of course, this was a reference to the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal baby, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, who made his debut the next day.

Schumer revealed her son’s name in another sweet Instagram post two days after his birth, sharing a photo of Fischer and their son alongside the caption, “Gene Attell Fischer [and] his dad Chris.”

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor

There’s no question that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had the most anticipated, publicized pregnancy and subsequent birth the world has seen in quite some time. And now that we know the newest royal addition’s name, it’s safe to say the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also managed to deliver perhaps the most talked about baby name since Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin named their first daughter after a fruit.

On May 8, 2019, two days after Markle gave birth to their son, the royal couple announced their first child’s name on their official Instagram account – posting a photo of themselves, their baby, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Phillip, and Markle’s mother Doria Ragland, captioning it, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first born child: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.”

The royal couple introduced their son to the world at St. George’s Hall the same day they announced his name, beaming with pride while they talked with reporters. “It’s magic,” Markle gushed about motherhood (via People). “It’s pretty amazing. I have the best two guys in the world, so I’m really happy,”

Moses Hall

Former Today Show host, Tamron Hall, announced on March 4, 2019, that she and her husband Steven were expecting their first child.

“I’ve wanted to share this news for many months and now finally my doctor has said I am in a safe place, at 32 weeks, to share my joy with y’all,” the 48-year-old captioned a series of photos featuring the expecting mother and soon-to-be dad. “My husband Steven and I are beyond excited! …More to share in a few weeks when the baby arrives! Next chapter!”

Fans didn’t have to wait long to start on that “next chapter” alongside Hall. On April 25, the host took to Instagram to post a photo of herself holding her new baby and wearing a hat with the name “Moses” embroidered diagonally across it, captioning the sweet pic, “Moses & Mama!! I can’t wait to introduce y’all to my #sonshine. Photo credit: Dad who can’t stop crying tears of joy. Thank y’all for the love and support. It got us here.”
